Arts and Culture

“Medicine, law, business, engineering, these are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love, these are what we stay alive for.”
– Dead Poets Society

I wanted to be a filmmaker, an actor, or an author long before I wanted to be a journalist. My love of art – of discussing and dissecting art – remains strong to this day, and that’s what my arts blog – The Social Barometer – is for. Here, I’ll discuss cultural news and developments, discuss art that piques my interest, and review films and music as much as I can.

My second culture blog – Time and Relatives Demented in Spain – is much more specific. A longtime fan of Doctor Who, I drifted away from the series during the increasingly shaky reign of Steven Moffat. But now that he’s riding off into an underwritten sunset, my love for the show is slowly rekindling, and I’ve been inspired to do something I don’t quite think anyone else has. Watch every. single. episode. of the programme and then blog about it.
